Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams, typically consisting of nine players each. The game is played on a diamond-shaped field with four bases arranged at the corners. The objective is for one team, known as the offense, to hit a ball thrown by the opposing team, known as the defense, and run around the bases to score runs. A run is created when a player successfully reaches home plate after touching all four bases in order.

The game is divided into innings, with each team taking turns to bat and field. A standard professional game consists of nine innings. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins. Baseball is known for its unique terminology, rules, and its significant cultural impact, particularly in the United States, where it is often referred to as “America’s pastime.” The sport is governed by a set of official rules and is played at various levels, from amateur to professional leagues.
