Cricket

Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each. The game is played on a circular or oval field with a 22-yard-long rectangular pitch at its center. One team bats, attempting to score runs by hitting a ball bowled by the opposing team, while the other team bowls and fields, trying to restrict runs and dismiss the batters. Runs are scored by running between the wickets or hitting boundaries, which include four runs for a ball that reaches the boundary after bouncing and six runs for a ball that crosses the boundary without touching the ground. Cricket has various formats, including Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 (T20) matches, each differing in duration and rules. The sport is governed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and has a rich history and a significant cultural presence in countries like England, Australia, India, and Pakistan.
